Dodge Repair - starting

Expert: Pete Lacey - 9/30/2004

Question
I have a '95 Dodge Intrepid. Nice car, runs great. It seems to have some sort of starting problem, but my mechanic tested the started and said it was working fine and not pulling extra voltage. When you turn the key on, all of the dash lights and everything come on but it doesn't always start right up. It will click once like metal on metal and then nothing, it doesn't attempt to fire at all. After turning on the key a few times, it will eventually start. Sometimes it will start right up on the first try, and keep doing that for a month, then all of a sudden it will start acting up again. Sometimes it will start after a couple of times and sometimes its 20-30. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. Can you recommend what to look for?
