my Akita gave birth 4 days ago she is still breathing heavy and bleeding as well is that normal. also she wants to stray away from the pups is this a good thing i mean until they want to feed.

Hi Charlena

Did you do x-rays prior to whelp to count spines? It could be that she either has a pup retained or has not expelled all her afterbirth.

Your female should be stuck like glue to her pups, unless there's a problem.

I would take her to the vet for a shot of oxytocin.
