Question My 6 weeks old pups were sold yesterday and the mom's breasts are engorged! I know not to feed her as much food as before, but she her breasts are huge and I don't know what to do to relieve the pressure for her. Can you help?
Answer Hi Joyce. It'll take her breasts a while to get close to normal again. Cut back slightly on her food and water, and you can try to apply cold compresses to her breasts. Some people will even wrap a bandage around the dog to help dry up the milk. Since the puppies are now gone to their new homes, she should dry up very soon. There's not a whole lot that you can do, just give it some time. Good luck!
