Question Hi I have a beautiful male who is 8 yearsl old, he is a pedigree, with all the paper etc. Is he too old to be a stud. I would like a pup from his line. I have looked online and all the sites and adverts list younger boys and girls. if it is ok to mate him, do you know how i can find a suitable girl propbably one a bit older, it seems wong putting him with a two year old when he is older. Thanks
Answer Hi Isabel. Mating a male at 8 years of age, is perfectly fine. Also mating a 8 year old male with a 2 year old female is also fine. Remember we are workiing with dog, not humans and the difference in age is not an issue.
I suggest that you contact a local breeder and ask if they have a femal that they would be interested in mating with your boy.
Good luck, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have additional questions.
