Question
I am breeding my Male Rotty...and he is definitely "doing the deed"...but we are not getting a "tie".  Is there a way to "help" ensure the tie will take place?  Is it possible for the female to conceive without a tie?  She is flagging, he's takin care of business...but no tie.

Answer
Hi Greg

Not you need a tie.  The lock ensures that the semen goes in as everything is lethal to semen inlcuding air.

When he mounts her, you can hold him in place until this usually takes one very strong person or two.  Sit under the female and holds her in place.  Use one arm to grip the female, use the other arm to guide the male in and hold him their until a tie takes place.  You can then leave wash your hands and wait for the magic.

Good luck.
