Experience An animal lover and owner all my life, I spent years as a foster parent for a national rescue group and as a volunteer at my local Humane League. Many years ago, I began researching and using natural health care methods to treat both my pets and my family. Question My dog loves chicken, and I was wondering is chicken ok for him to eat?

Chicken is perfectly great for him to eat. He can even eat it raw. Just make sure he doesn't eat any COOKED chicken bones. Raw chicken bones are fine. In fact, he would probably love to chew up a raw chicken wing. But once you cook chicken, the bones lose their moisture and can splinter and perforate his intestines. Eating cooked bones can be life-threatening.
My dogs do much better on raw chicken than cooked. Cooked chicken gives them the runs. But many dogs do just fine on cooked chicken and many eat it as the main part of their diet. So feel free to feed all the chicken you want. Just watch what comes out the other end. If there is any sign of stomach upset, switch to something else.
