Subject: Husky undercoat

Question
Hi! My boyfriend and I have a disagreement, maybe you can help clear it up?  Our husky for some reason is blowing her coat right now...I have a shedender comb and an undercoat rake that is getting some of it out. I want to go buy a furminator to get in there good and remove all that loose hair.  He insists because it's winter that she needs her undercoat and I should leave it alone.  I think if it is loose and shedding anyways, it needs to come out, plus she's shedding constantly all over the floor, couch, etc. and I'd like to try to minimize that. She is mostly an indoor dog.

Who's right?  Should I leave it alone or try to remove as much of the loose undercoat as I can?

Answer
Your both right, sorry. Dogs do need their winter coats. But, considering your dog stays in most of the time it is more comfortable for her to be thinned out. So I personally would try to remove the loose stuff. She's probably blowing her coat do to a warm environment, she doesn't need it. I do want to say though, nothing is ever going to rid you of the loose hair, it will always be there. It can be controlled with regular brushing. Hope this clears things up. Good Luck
