Question
My Austrialian Shepherd is 8 years old and she had cruciate surgery on her right hind knee.  That was five months ago. She is a double coated dog and while her undercoat has come back on the surgical site nothing has returned elsewhere. the short hairs are there but no growth. What can I do to stimulate the growth?

Answer
Some dogs take a long time to grow their hair back. Just give it time and make sure he has a good diet and gets to go outside frequently.  I have heard of dogs having their hair not grow back properly but that is unlikely, some dogs have hair that just takes longer to grow.  Good luck.
