Dog Training/Dog walks so far and then stops dead

My 5 year old golden retriever has been doing the same thing so we took her to the Vet because we were worried. She has had a lot of obedience training and loves to go on walks so it was concerning! We have a 7 year old golden as well and take them on walks together. If we take or older dog then the other will cry by the front for, but if we take her she won't walk anymore. Our Vet gave her arthritis medicine that hasn't helped, but it is odd because she will still jump on the bed without a problem. I know my dog and I know that she isn't "just being stubborn". She has gained weight due to her lack of exercise, but she seems to be in some sort of discomfort or pain so to force her seems cruel. It seems to me to be a medical issue over a behavioral problem. I hope your Vet is able to identify the problem and help your dog soon!
