Question
QUESTION: My 3 yr old boxer and my 21/2 yr old pitbull have been fighting really bad they have lived together since they were small we have been keeping them in separate parts of the house but at night my husband and i have to sleep in different parts of the house since each dog does not like to sleep alone they will bark all night if left alone

ANSWER: First if they are not fixed, getting them done will calm things down and will be less likely to fight

Also putting muzzles on both dogs,so that they can figure out who's in charge works as well, because once that's sorted things will go back, and since they have muzzles on,they can't hurt each other, but figure out who's on charge

QUESTION: we have schedule to get them fixed thursday but we have been keeping them in two different rooms of the house and letting them out at different times the trouble know is that they dont like sleeping alone they have always slept with us in our bed so they will bark until one of us goes and sleeps in the room with them help i havent seen my husband for more than an hour in the last week. should i let them smell each other through doors or keep them completely seperate until they are fixed

Answer
Well what you can do is if each dogs have crates(or if they don't you can buy them at a petstore)and let them sleep in the same room, but in separate crates,so they can still smell and see each other but not hurt each other

Also rub blankets over each dog and give the other dog the one with the other dog's scent on it,so that can at least smell the other dog

You don't want them to fight at night so for now separating them is the best way to go
