AboutBecky Expertise I have owned dogs my whole life. I was a veterinarian assistant for several different vets, so I might be able to help out on health issues. Although I love all dogs, my favorites are the toy breed. I am not a breeder, so those type of questions should be directed to someone who is. I have three chinese crested, two chihuahuas and one yorkie/silky mix. I would be happy to answer any questions on these particular breeds,or just dogs in general. Please keep in mind, however, that I am NOT a Veterinarian. If you feel your dog is seriously ill, then please take your pet to a qualified professional. Although we "experts" try to help you with your questions, it is impossible to "see" or "touch" your dog through a computer. If you feel your dog's life is in danger, please call a Veterinarian immediately. Thank you!

Question I have a 1 year old Bassett Hound that eats cat feces. Per my vet, I have purchased vitamins in case she is missing something in her diet. Then when the feces eating continued I was told it could be a lack of protein in her diet so we feed her boiled chicken 3-4 times a week. I do not know what else to do she keeps eating cat feces any chance she gets. Also to make matters worse my in laws are moving in with my husband and I along with their three year old terrier mix and we found out today she eats cat feces also. Could I feed my cat something different so the feces won’t be quite as appealing?
Answer Hi Katie!
There is an item called "Forbid" that when fed to your cat, your dog and your in laws' dog will NOT want to eat the feces anymore. You can check your local PetSmart or maybe even Walmart sells it, or something under another name. Or you can go here: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=3547
All you do is add it to your cat's food.
God Bless,
Becky
