Question
A friend wants to give me a dog that is a Husky/German Shepard cross.  At 4 months old the dog broke the "elbow" on his front right leg.  The injury was repaired with screws.  He is now 10 months old and does limp after excercise.  How will this injury effect him down the road?

Answer
Hi, Kevin,

Forgive me, but I would no possible way of knowing the answer to this.  First of all, I have no medical background, as I indicate in my profile.  Secondly, this is like trying to see the future.  All I can say is that the leg will most likely never be any better than it is right now.  Or, if it does, when he becomes a "senior" he may develop arthritis in that joint.

Sorry I can't be more help than that.
