Question Hello, I have a yorkie 1-1/2 y/o. I'de like to know how many times is it good to bathe her. We usually bathe her every 2-3 weeks. However, now im concerned cause she's been very itchy lately, she has a rash under her arms and on her nipples. What should I do???
Answer Hello Patricia, the rash could or could not be from the bathing, It might simply be allergies. Use a good medicated shampoo such as an oatmeal/baking soda shampoo, and most importantly rinse, rinse, and then rinse again. Leaving any shampoo in the dogs coat will cause skin problems. Then follow up with a good conditioner. Here is a website that you can find many good shampoos and conditioners at. www. petedge.com Also every two to three weeks is fine for bathing, just use a med. shampoo and then a conditioner and rinse, rinse and then rinse again. Also use a sprayer (similar to giving her a doggie shower) instead of a tub/sink full of water. A doggie shower will be easier to rinse the shampoo out. Thanks for asking, Cindy Lou :)
