About Wendy, Professional Dog Groomer
Expertise
I can answer questions on grooming, training, different breeds, showing, and some health questions. I have four dogs of my own and I know a lot from experience.

Experience
I have been a professional dog groomer for 12 years. I have shown my dogs in obedience and in confirmation. I have also done some breeding. I believe in people training their dogs instead of the dogs training their owners. Training is essential to good dog ownership. I also can answer you questions on Portuguese Water Dogs.

Dogs - dog bath

Expert: Wendy, Professional Dog Groomer - 9/26/2004

Question
I'm a new foster parent of an adult shiz zou(sp?).
How often do you bathe a dog. He had a full grooming 3 wks ago.

Answer
You should not have to bathe her inbetween groomings unless she gets into something or gets stinky. If you bathe at home you can do it as often as you feel necessary as long as you rinse well. If you don't rinse well, you could dry out the skin. If you bathe often, you should use a quality dog shampoo. For a once here and there bath, you can use people shampoo and conditioner no problem.
