About Sheri Belford Expertise I can answer general questions about Pomeranian`s behavior, their personality (which is great!), how to raise them from being "baby Poms" to being "adult Poms", and general illnesses that can occur with owning a toybreed (which is different from a normal sized dog). I own a female Pomeranian, so I know more about females than males. However, I have read a lot of books on both sexes, so I probably know enough to answer your question. I can also give grooming tips, and the "do`s and don`t`s" of owning a Pomeranian. If I don`t know the answer to your questions, I sure will find it out for you myself!
Experience After all the Pomeranian books I have read, the only place I really gained my experience is from my very own Pom, Kricket. She has taught me things I could never have learned from any books! However, I have read & read until I've gotten to the point that everything I read is looking the same! I have gained my experience by watching my Pom, and if she displayed any unusual behavior, I would find out why, and I also researched why Poms look the way they do, all their ancestors, why they act the way they do, and much more.
Question hi we just got a dog about two weeks old and she is just a small pup yet she is only about 11 or 12 weeks old and my dad keeps saying that he is going to get rid of her becuase she is not making any progress and I keep telling him that it tkaes time to house train a dog but he doesn't listen to me. so I was wondering if there is anyting that we can do to get her house broke faster. and I am trying my hardest to wrok with her around my school schedele and my dad works nights and he is usually sleeping during the day. so what can we do?
Answer Natasha,
Hello! Please forgive me for taking so long to answer. It's the busiest time of the year around my workplace, so I've hardly had time to go online! The best thing to do is learn her "bathroom" schedule. Pups have to go quite often. The most important times to take her out is RIGHT after she eats, and just as soon as she wakes up from a nap or even a long night's sleep. That is the time when she will have to go the most. Also, when she poops in the house, using some toilet paper, pick the poop up and carry it outside and show it to her. Make sure she sees it and eventually she'll know that that is where she is supposed to go to the bathroom. Be consistent!
Hope I've helped you and should you need anything else, please let me know. I have more time now!
