Question
Do you know where actor John Woodnut of Broton fame was born or raised?  I know he plays a Scotsman in 'Zygons' but seeing him in 'Keeper of Traken' I noticed a slight Scottish burr in his accent? Is he actually Scottish?

The answer I believe he is English. I have all his Doctor Who appearences and an episode of a program called 'Out of the Unknown' that features him. I cannot be 100% certain but I would imagine that he is an Englishman (Hibbert in 'Spearhead from Space' and a very precise English in the 'Out of the Unknown' episode) who can do a semi-convincing scots. I really don't think that's a watertight scots accent he does! Listen to 'Doctor Who - The Highlanders' and then compare his scots! So yes I would say he was an Englishman. I'm afraid I can't find a date of birth for him at all.
