Expertise
I am experienced in dream interpretation using contents of the dream as the main source of interpretation. Analysis requires full disclosure of the dream and possibly some feedback from the dreamer. This is an interesting and insightful way to uncover the hidden meaning of your dreams.

Dream Interpretation - Burglars

Expert: Hope - 10/21/2009

Question
My first dream had two days pass by (not the actual days, but the two nights when I'm approaching the house). The first day, I thought it got burglarized but it hadn't been. The second day, it seemed like it was and my brother was tied up on the stairs (we don't get along, that may have something to do with it).
I took a nap today, and once again had the dream. I walked into my house, the door was open and the lights on the main floor and basement weren't working (I didn't go to the 2nd floor where our bedrooms were, but for some reason felt like they were working). I was really scared because I thought something happened to my dog, so I was running around trying to find her in the darkness and eventually found her cowering in the basement.
I've never actually seen the burglars in my dream, but today in my second dream had the vague feeling that he was around (that may have been why I didn't go to the 2nd floor). I woke myself up before I finished the dream.
Any idea why I might be having these dreams? I live in a pretty safe neighborhood in the suburbs. There was an influx of burglaries a few years ago but that died down and there haven't really been any crimes around here. If you have an interpretation of these, it'll be really appreciated.

Answer
Kimberly I apologize for the delay in responding to you. Your dream suggests fears and feelings that are out of control. Both your brother and the dog may represent parts of yourself that you feel uncomfortable with, and another part that feels vulnerable but that you feel protective. Something in your immediate environment may be causing you to feel fearful. Good luck. Hope
