Expertise
I am experienced in dream interpretation using contents of the dream as the main source of interpretation. Analysis requires full disclosure of the dream and possibly some feedback from the dreamer. This is an interesting and insightful way to uncover the hidden meaning of your dreams.

Question
Hello there.  So I've had a few strange, recurring dreams lately....and I'm wondering if you can shed some insight as to what they might mean.

In one of them, I have been kidnapped.  I don't see the face of the kidnappers, but there are two of them, playing good cop/bad cop, and the "bad" one is named John.  While kidnapped, the "bad" one repeatedly beats me, and the good one says nothing, but looks remorseful.  Eventually the "good" one lets me go.  Then, I find my way out of this maze like house, and I end up running through a suburban area with a real life friend of mine who is a police officer, looking for the kidnappers.  I keep yelling out the name "John" while trying to track them down.  They are never found, but my cop friend and I continue running until I eventually wake up.  When I wake up from this dream, I'm often still crying and my heart is racing.

The other dream, which I think might be related, has me waking up in a house I've never seen nor lived in in real life, and I wake up (in the dream) knowing something bad has happened.  I run outside in my underwear, and see that my car has been stolen. Again, I'm in a suburban neighborhood, though its a different neighborhood than the one in the previous dream.  The whole time I'm running, I'm looking for my car, and all I see are the eyes of people I'm running past....nothing else facially, or body types, just eyes.  Finally, I find what's left of my car, its been cut up into tiny little pieces (what I'd roughly guess to be 1x1 inch squares, though I'm not for certain on any measurements.)  I wake up usually the same way, crying with a racing heart.

My car is a big part of me, and my life.  I recently moved from Detroit Michigan (where this car thats in the dreams had been broken into 3 times) to the middle of nowhere, Kansas.  Its very quiet here, no one locks their doors or takes their keys out of their vehicles (except for me, I set all my alarms no matter where I'm at haha.)  But I'm not understanding the significance of the dreams.

Let me know if you need anymore information, and thank you very very much for trying to help me out here.  I'd like to figure out what is going on, my dreams are typically very colorful and fun....but I've been having those two dreams repeatedly for the last month and a half, and I'm wondering what they're trying to tell me.

Thanks again!!

--Holly

Answer
Holly your dream points to areas of your life that makes you feel restricted and anxious. The fact that your car has been cut up in tiny pieces suggests something you prize has been destroyed. The car may also represent you and the eyes represent the outside influence in your life. What in your life feels like the part of your dream where you discovered the bits and pieces of your car?
