Question
QUESTION: I just started using the Alesis d-4 again.
I'm only triggering the bass drum with a ddrum red shot trigger.
The last performance I had problems of double triggering.
Can you suggest some advice on how to stop that problem?

ANSWER: Sounds like the sensitivity is set too high.
Try lowering it and see what that does.

Make sure the drum is not ringing too much.

Hope this helps.

Mike

QUESTION: thanks for your advice.
I just bought some audix mixs f10& f12 for my kit. I plan to continue triggering my kick but wondering what your thought on combination of miking and triggering the same instrument?

Answer
That is the way the big groups do it.

Treat each one as a separate voice.
Get the sound you want from the trigger, then dial in the mic.

If you want to get real tricky, you can double mic the kick and snare.
Just make sure that the mics are out of phase with each other.

Hope this helps.

Mike
