Drunk Driving - tickets and suspension of license

Expert: tim hennig - 2/24/2003

Question
1)If you have accumulated a lot of tickets over the years in different cities in Michigan, and your license has been suspended what is the best way to clean up your record?
2)If most of the reason that your record got this way is due to someone else using your name, will the court take this into account even if you can't prove this?
3)Do you have to appear in court in each city to take care of this problem?
4)Should you have some money for fines before you go to court?
5)Is there a possibility of jail time for basic traffic tickets?

Answer
If I were you,I would take care of the city that has the most travel time from your home FIRST.Work ing my way back closer to home.    2)If you can prove that someone was using your name (yes),but it might cost you more to prove that than it would be to fix your problem and move on...3)yes,you have to appear in court...4)all the courts want is your money,YES,bring money/credit card with you...5)jail time,NO,they want your money $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$..those people working there need a job.." this is my 2cents worth" if you want to talk with a phoney, I mean a lawyer, you may do so... again, bring MORE money with you.        I hoped I help you out. Take care.       Tim
