Hope this finds you well.
While i'm not a nexpert, i find this otherwise cogent response to be somewhat misleading and would like to clarify.
With regard to the statement that "Golden Loom" is not a Bob Dylan, but rather a Roger McGuinn song:
That's true if recording a song makes it yours; as the provided shows, Mr. McGuinn did record it on his Thunderbyrd record. I have it on vinyl; it's down in my basement somewhere.
If I went down now & checked the credits, it would likely show that Mr. Dylan wrote it ("Ram's Horn Music" being his publishing company). His recording of it is available on his "Bootleg Series Volumes 1-3".
which includes a link to a snippet of soundFile.
Hope this helps,

According to Maria Muldaur's CD "Heart of Mine" on which the cover states "Maria Muldaur sings Love Songs of Bob Dylan". I have never heard Dylan do this but I have never heard him do "Lay Down Your Weary Tune either but He wrote it. The Byrds made a career doing Dylan songs. It's reasonable to assume McGuinn would continue this. I belive Dylan wrote this song and McQuinn recorded it. Unfortunately, I haven't heard his version it seems to be popular. I love Muldaur's rendition and everything else she has on the CD.

"Golden Loom" was written by Dylan but McGuinn recorded it. I don't think Dylan ever did a commercial recording of this song (the Bootleg Album was bootlegged recording that were never meant for release. The first time I heard it was on the CD Maria Muldaur Sings Sons of Bob Dylan - "Heart of Mine".
