The domain name I have was created when I read back than, that the "1" in the beginning of the URL, will put you on top of the list in SEO - what a mistake. However, can I purchase another domain name and direct/share the 2 URL's so that I can still keep the current old one and gradually switch to the new one. Please explain. Also, any recommendation as how to add a shopping cart? I have a merchant account already - Visa + Matercard . buy a software, join some program?? looking for an inexpensive solution. And last one, any good SEO program or advice
Thank you, Gabe
Answer Gabe,
Regarding using two domains to point to the same site, no problem. I'm not sure how you are hosting your site, but you can either forward or point both domains to the same location. Ask your domain provider for details or you can provide me with specifics and I can give you detailed instructions.
For adding a shopping cart, there are many cart programs available and they are either free (like Zen Cart) or reasonably priced. I use VP-ASP a lot. If you only have a few products for sell, I recommend Google Checkout. Very easy to use and inexpensive for transactions. If you have quite a few products, I recommend a good cart program, like the ones I mentioned and a gateway account, like Authorize.Net to process the transactions (this is the in-between to your Merchant Account).
I have several clients that have used Socius for SEO and have been very pleased with the cost and results (http://www.sociusmarketing.com/).
