Question I don't know anything about selling on the internet but, have been hearing about affiliate marketing and would like to know if these are scams(ex:clickbank)? Does one have to have a website of theirown own to do this?
Answer There are two types of affiliate marketing.

Respectable companies set up affiliate programs and pay their affiliates to sell good products online from their websites. This is no different than buying something fro a retail store. Many companies access large numbers of these true affiliate marketers through affiliate member sites like Linkshare, Commission Junction, and Clickbank. You can represent top companies and make a good living selling good products to happy customers who will revisit your site to buy more. The trick, as it is with retail stores, is to have a lot of traffic to your site. Creating this traffic is the hard part and you must learn about SEO, adwords, and pay for a sufficient amount of advertising. Linkshare represents information products and you can sell books, how-to manuals, and other information products. Some of the Network Marketers' pyramid schemes are also sold on Clickbank so, you have to choose your products wisely.
