Question I am planning to create my own brand name, start selling 'purse' I designed, I found several manufactures in China, my products is high quality, no wall mart, where and how to sell? What is procedure?
Any untraditional idea, I like to learn from you.
Thank you.
Answer Hi,
The thing about trendy new fashion items is the buzz. Creating a buzz in not about money, but rather placement. A celebrity carrying your purse and photographed with it is buzz. Sponsoring an "event" with fashion "in" people. Or exciting a key buyer with an exclusive "first buy".
These are what gets an unknown product known. Go to a shop in LA or NYC that caters to clebrities. Find out which celebrity might liketo have yor purse. Give it to them in return for promotional consideration (being able to say that the celeb has your purse). Build a chic website with online store capabilities. Put the purse on eBay and say that the first person to have this purse was that famous celebrity. Link to your own website with other purses for sale. This will generate traffic to yourown site. You can then market to people who buy from your site without big $$$ for advertising. Push customers to spread the word. Offer discounts on future purchases.
