Question Hello Steve- I am thinking of investing in a company called GetMeBenfits owned by a company called Cossey, Anderson & Taylor Marketing, LLC . They are a "co-pay and discount prescription card services company" based in Sarasota FL. Their web site is http://www.getmebenefits.com
They offer what seems to be quite a good bargain, a 'one-time' fee of $10 to obtain a discount card that offers drug discounts. They mention an associate company called ScriptSolutions so I'm wondering if Getmebenefits is an afilliate of some sort or just perhaps selling memberships to some other service or site.
Would you have any ideas about this company and if they are just a 'pass-through' operation and if they may be a good company?
Thank you
Michael Banks

Answer Michael,
GetMeBenefits.com is an agent reselling products from Protective Marketing Enterprises, Inc., which is huge in the "not insurance" discount percription card market (they do Sam's Club and just about everyone elses).
Oddly enough, PME is owned by Protective Life Corp (nyse: PL) which IS an insurance company, based in Birmingham, AL.
The scale that GetMeBenefits.com seems to be operating on is weak, especially compared to the huge marketing efforts of PME's bigger customers - and their website design reinforces that.
So what we have right now is an agent operating on commissions whose only product they own is a quick website they put together. How are they going to market this? This is the age-old dot.com dilemma that burned through $$$$ trying to compete with the brick and mortar's superior infrastructure.
For instance, Sam's Club distributes perscription card solicitations to all their members. These offers are backed by the huge credibility of Sam's Club. As a result, they sell thousands of these. This is what GetMeBenefits.com is competing against. I know they could present an agruement that it won't take many sales to be profitable, and they are probably right. But it WILL take a lot to get people to find them as credible as the big retail marketers.
I love investing and have done so successfully. In my opinion, there's nothing here that stands out as a stellar investment op...but in all fairness, I don't have all the details that you have. So, what we have is an opinion based upon a scenerio.
I hope this helps and if so, kindly provide some feedback ratings!
