I am about to put out ecommerce websites,bluehost.com is the hosting company.
When somebody orders my widgets what happens next.Does the
gateway or merchant account company send notifications both to me and the purchaser that the order went through?Could you give me the steps that happen when an order is approved?

Answer Hi Larry,
Yes, this is usually setup at the merchant account level. Once payment is made receipts will be sent to both you, the customer and may also save it in your shopping cart application.
