Question Do the makers of ER have any idea of how disgusting it was to see a doctor washing a bedpan in a kitchen sink? Yes, I know she isn't really a doctor but, supposedly, there are technical advisors on the set. I was so appalled that I don't know if I will ever watch ER again.
Answer I think that it's dramatic effect taking place. Jing-Mei was under incredible stress and I think that it's to show that. The writers on this show know everything. Every decision is meticulously thought out. This was done for effect and not cause they were lazy.
