Subject: How to change my Nose ring

Question
I have Had My nose pierced for 8 months, and I want to change the ring.  It is a screw, i think, its shaped like a horseshoe.  I want to get the threadless one, but all i have right now is another pink screw...and no money.  Can you give me a step by step process on how to safely, and in the least painful way possible, take out the screw I have in, and insert the other one?

Answer
First, have the new piece inspected for surface defects and autoclave sterilized by a professional. Have the jewelry switched for you by a pro the first time to learn the easiest way.

The old one can then be cleaned and lubricated with a little water based lubricant such as K-Y, then pulled out while gently guiding the inner tail through from the inside. The new piece can be lubricated and inserted in the opposite direction.
