Question
hello,i've got a really sore ear and i think it now has pus coming out(it's in my earring hole!i'v had my ears pierced for more than 10 years a few years ago my ears would get sore if i wore fake metals(ie not gold silver etc)and then the other day i put a new earring in for less than a min then a day later it got like this(all sore and slightly swollen)what dou think could cause this and what can i do about it?!thanks

Answer
The jewelry could have been contaminated or have a rough or sharp or otherwise uneven surface finish. It could also have been made of something unsafe to wear. Change to platinum or titanium posts and let it stabilize, cleaning it with soap and water until it gets well. See your doctor or dermatologist if it does not get better or if it gets worse.
