Question About 2 days ago I got a 4mm gauge(A metal cone shaped one) put in my
ear. It did not hurt at the time and only really hurt and bled that night and
slightly the next morning. There is now minimal pain but there is now a sticky
puss (Not sure if it is puss) coming out. Is the puss a bad sign? Is there a way
to get around this without having to remove the gauge for 2 months? Was it
only a matter of sterilizing it with more than warm sea salt and water?
Answer This means that you went too large too soon. You will probably get better with gentle aftercare, but take it easy and see a doctor if it gets worse or doesn't get better. It is possible to get a serious infection from jewelry that is not sterilized by autoclave, especially in these circumstances.
