Question Are there any lip rings or jewelry made from material that's not harmful to your enamel or gums? My dentist told me that she sees many patients come in with gum/enamel damage due to oral piercings. I really want to get a snake bite, but that's pretty much the only thing that's stopping me...
Answer Your dentist is completely correct, though a company we work with that makes dental implants designed a shape for the interior that reduces that to a negligible amount. www.piercing.org/shop has examples. The domed disc shape works well when the longer initial healing post has been shortened to the goal size after two to four weeks.
