Question
I just got a helix piercing in my right ear, and I didn't know about the gay/straight thing. Is that still an issue? (I'm a straight gal, and I don't want to mess w/ any confusion. Also, if I decide I don't like the piercing, can I safely remove the ring to allow it to heal? Will the hole close up quickly? Will it leave a scar? Thanks.

Answer
Your choice of piercings should not have any signal or bearing on your lifestyle other than your desire to wear jewelry. Have fun wearing it, and after about 9 months to a year if you are fully healed you can remove and reinsert the jewelry. The scar should be minimal, similar to your earlobe.
