Question
I got my Tragus Pierced in the middle of may and it was going good for a while now all of the sudden it hurts, the outside looks fine except a redish/grey ring around where the piercing is which looks like where the ring may have migrated, i dont think that its infected because the outter part of the piercing dosnt hurt. I'm not sure whats going on with it but im considering taking it out. Any Advice on what to do?

Answer
First consider that it may have been damaged in an accidental way, sleeping on it, banging on something, irritated by swimming. Gentle care and a change of jewelry to a threadless titanium barbell would be my suggestion. The anodized color surface of the titanium is smoother than steel or other materials, and the chemistry is much safer. http://piercing.org/faq/jewelry.html explains this in detail.

http://piercing.org/shop has excellent examples of the jewelry that I've had the best success with. Anodized color makes it smoother and cleaner.

Gentle care is described at http://piercing.org/faq/aftercare.html

You should be able to treat the irritation and save the piercing.
