Subject: double flare eyelets

Question
hi, i recently got size 14mm in my ear lobes, what i was not banking on was the ear pieces, size 14mm were double flared, they are in three days now an are just sore wit bits dried blood round the edges, are tender to touch but i dont think they are swollen or infected, my worry is how on earth am i going to get them out to put in single flare eyelets when they heal as i def am not going for a repeat torture of them ripping to get them out now as i did getting them in, especially as i waited months an months wit the 12 mm stretching enough to fall through the holes. need to know the best way to deal wit this without the trauma of them ripping my ears off getting them out, thanks a mil

Answer
So sorry to read about your trauma. The best things I can suggest are waiting until they come out easily on their own, and that you specify single flared jewelry in the future if you are planning to continue to a larger size. http://piercing.org/faq/stretching.html describes my other advice on the subject of gently enlarging your piercings.
