Question I'm about to have my oral surgery in a few weeks and I was wondering if I'll have to remove my piercings or replace them with Bioflex jewelry during the procedure? I don't want to remove them, but if I have to, will the holes close, esp. considering that I got my tongue done six months ago and monroe done two weeks ago?
Answer Your oral piercings should probably come out, so that your surgeon does not misplace them or have trouble with them if they pose an obstacle. Quartz or plastic retainers may work for you for the short time, but make sure that they are autoclave sterilized before insertion.
Other piercings should be able to stay in place, as long as your jewelry is fairly close fitting to avoid electrical problems.
