Ear & Body Piercing/Double ear percing

Question
Hi, I really want to get my second ear piercing with my friend before summer. I am 14 and already have my first one. I have always thought that more than one looks trashy, and so does my mom. But recently I have like the way that it looks. Cute but simple. I want to get it done, but what if I want to remove it and not have it. If I take it out the hole might not close. Or there could be a scar.
I really want one but I don't want it to look trashy. And when I get a job later I don't want it to ruin my chance.
How long does it take for a piercing to close all the way? I want to wear it for maybe a year or two then take it out, will it still shut up.
Thanks
Lizzy

Answer
A piercing is a type of scar in the shape of a tunnel of tissue that grows to protect the body from the jewelry. This scar may shrink to the point of not being noticed, but it remains after jewelry is removed. A dermatologist can remove the scar in most cases, if it is deemed necessary to minimize the appearance.
