Ear & Body Piercing/Belly button ring faces sideways?

Question
Belly button piercing
Belly button piercing
Hello,

I got my belly button pierced almost a year ago. It's all healed and fine, except I've noticed that it's always faced sideways. The piercing itself is straight, but the jewelry is like sideways, not straight on. And it always faces to the left side, it never switches sides or anything. And it's not the jewelry I got pierced with. It does that with all jewelry that I put in it. I can set it straight forward, but over time it just goes back to facing left. Why is this? Is it anything to be concerned about?

Answer
It looks that your jewelry does not fit correctly, from your picture. Jewelry must fit well to sit straight in many cases. Shorter jewelry that fits with only 2mm of extra length should look more appropriate, and not lean. This is especially the case if you use a wider flat gem end for the top.

The piercing may be off center, but it looks more like the slope of the inside structure of your navel pushes the bottom to the right, so the jewelry leans to the left. Shorter jewelry should make this virtually invisible.

Where are you located? I should be able to refer you to a qualified colleague in your area to fit you with correctly measured jewelry.
