QUESTION: Is my belly piercing infected?  I have very very tiny small itchy bumps around it and it bugs the crap out of me. I also have a bump around the top hole & it's red & I just really don't know what it is!  About 3 or 4 days ago it was the same color as my skin & a little smaller , I thought it was a keloid forming but not it just looks disgusting,  I don't even let it show anymore,  and it hangs to the side, it's not straight I don't know what size ring to get, when I first got the piercing July 4 2013 it was straight but like a few days later it would lean. But I just really want to know is this serious enough that I need to take it out? I don't want it to get any worse!

ANSWER: Hi Sasha,
It appears from the placement that this piercing was done with jewelry that is too long, and has ends that are too large. Where are you located? I can refer you to a qualified colleague nearby for a consultation and perhaps they will be able to just upgrade you to better quality, better fitting jewelry. http://care.piercing.org/ should help in the meantime.
