Question
I got my belly button pierced about 8 months ago. It did have red ness and puss for about a week but this morning i woke up to it still connected to skin but its not in the hole anymore. Actually there is no hole anymore and now it looks like I have skin tags where the hole was. What do I do and how long will it take for them to go away??

Answer
Hello Natalie,
If you can make it by the studio, please come in for a free consultation. www.piercingexp.com in Atlanta.

In your case, the piercing may either have not healed because it was not placed adequately for your anatomy, the jewelry might not have been the best fit for you, and or could have been accidentally damaged which would lead to rejection like this.

I suggest that you remove the jewelry and give it time for the body to repair the area. The skin tags should dry up and diminish over the next few weeks with no intervention needed on your part. In many cases you could have us replace the piercing in a few months.
