Ear & Body Piercing/Navel Piercing

Hi Brian, first I'd like to say thank you for taking the time to read/answer my question. Recently, I just got my belly button pierced(yesterday) and I've been trying to keep it as clean as I can. My routine morning:Wash with soap/water and spray with System One aftercare, Mid-day spray, and Night or whenever I take my last shower, soap and spray. The ingredients of the spray are: purified water, polyamionproply biouanide, and dead sea salt. I was wondering if this spray is ok to use since it's what my piercer suggested I get, and if I was cleaning it too often. I've been reading up on rejection/migration rates and I'm afraid I'll mess it up because I'm doing too much. I know on the weekends I sweat a lot from work, but during the weekdays I don't sweat that much at all. Most of the time I forget I have it, so I don't really play with it, but whenever I get too comfortable I lay on my stomach and I remember I just got it done. Thanks again.

Hello Bianca,

Though I've not personally used that product, it could be more than you need, and might be irritating. A sterile saline wound wash product should be a safer choice.

http://piercingexp.com/faq/aftercare.html and http://care.safepiercing.org/ has the simple suggestions that have been peer reviewed to allow for healing with minimal issues.

Your care, sleeping habits and jewelry quality all affect your results substantially. It seems that you are conscious of your routine and should be able to adapt to a gentler process.
