Ear & Body Piercing/Nipple piercings

Question
Hello!  This is sort of a spin-off on a question I've seen previously.  I have six year old nipple piercings.  They are a bit slanted in placement, but that never particularly bothered me enough to want to take them out and get them re-done. I, too, still get significant crusties.  They're standard 14g barbells.  I am... a bit large breasted and do sleep in a sports bra, but almost always on my back. Does this mean they still, after all these years, aren't healed?  What might cause this to be?  Is there any hope of them fully healing at this point?  It's getting rather frustrating, and I'm wondering if I should just part with them.

Answer
In my experience, many C cup and larger breasted women benefit from proportionately thicker jewelry due to the width of the individual piercings. Smaller than 10g tend to do poorly, and in some cases they don't behave until they are 8 or 6g.

If you have with 14g for this long, upgrade to 12gg quality titanium barbells now, and 10g in a few months, and see if they stabilize at 8g.

Let me know where you are located, and I'll refer you to my closest colleagues.
