Ear & Body Piercing/nose piercing

I had my nose pierced in August with a screw stud. I would like to swap studs now for a small gem but have no idea what type of stud to buy - I didn't realise there were so many varieties! Any ideas what I should buy?

Also is it like ears in that when you change to a narrower stem you won't be able to put bigger ones back in? Would I be better going back to my piercer to change it? As I would like to be able to change my gem colour often!

Thanks for help for a clueless person!

Hello Pippa,
If you go back to your piercer for the first change, they can show you how to do it safely in the future in most cases. Usually, there is a minimal fee if any when you purchase new jewelry from your piercer, and it is likely to be of higher quality than what you'll find in most retail and online sources. Additionally, the stem length can be properly adjusted to fit you.

As far as thickness, almost every option is available on the most common stem thicknesses to match what you have.
