Ear & Body Piercing/Cartilage Piercing

Question
I had my cartilage pierced approximately 2 weeks ago and I feel like it's too low. My Mum is not against me re piercing it but I'm worried about a few things.
1) If I take out my piercing now, will it get infected?
2) How long will it take to close up?
3) Will it scar?
4) How long should I wait before I repierce it? (Slightly higher than my current piercing of course)

Thanks for any responses.

Answer
Hello anon,
1) Your piercer should be able to remove the jewelry for you, after cleaning it appropriately and with safety measures necessary to prevent infection.
2) It should close immediately with a scab, and will take some time less than the expected healing period for the piercing to get well.
3) It will scar, but it may not be noticeable.
4) You should be able to pierce a nearby location a few weeks after the scab has gone away. That is resuming that the area behaves and gets well and feels like it is smooth, and not swollen.
