Ear & Body Piercing/Nose Piercing Scars

Question
Okay so long story short, about 3 weeks after I got my nose pierced it got infected. I know youa re not supposed to take the stud out, but I accidently pulled mine out and couldn't put it back in. The piercer told me she had to wait for the infection to go away to re pierce it. It s now been 2 weeks and I m 99% sure the infection is gone. But now there s a brownish dot on my nose (like 1-2 shades darker than my skin)...is it just a scar from closing the nose piercing? Or could it still be infected? If it is just a scar, can she pierce on top of it? Thanks for reading! (Sorry it was so long)

Answer
Usually you would want to wait until the tissue appears the same color and texture as the surrounding area before re-piercing.

Sooner than that, the immune response (phagocytosis, etc) has not finished the work mending, and infection risk can be higher.
