Early Childhood Education - preschool teacher qualifications

Question
Hello,
I am interested in knowing what college degree a preschool teacher has to have.  Is a 2 year Associates Degree in Child Development sufficient to teach in a preschool?  Can a person be considered  "certified in child development" without a college degree?
thanks for any information.
Sincerely,
LYnn McDermott

Answer
Hi Lynn,
Thx for your question. I always advocate getting as much ECE education as you can. However, each school and daycare is different, and will require different schooling, so the more you have the better. At my preschool, a 2 year degree would have been sufficient, but as I said- each school is different.

Much success to you!
