Expert: Sue Date: 2/14/2008 Subject: upside down drawing at age 4
Question One of the four-year-olds in my pre-school is quite advanced with drawing - schematic (people with arms, legs, hands, feet, hair - flowers with stems and petals), good control, clear lines - but always drawn upside down. Have you come across anything like this before?
Answer Hi Colin,
I can't recall ever seeing a child draw upside down. But I don't think that at four years old it's anything to worry about. Since the child is so good at drawing he/she may just be experimenting with a different way of drawing and being creative.
