Subject: Potty training my 3 year old.

Question
I have been trying to potty train my year old daughter since she was just a little over 2.  But everything i have done dose not seem to work.  I have done all the stickers or something special if she would go potty all day.  And then when she turned 3 right on her birthday she did it...and she went all by her self...i told her how happy i was with her doing that.  But then the next day she did not go once...she just went in her pants.  And she has not had a good day since then.  Now I do have a 4 year old that goes just fine.  And she was really easy to train.  And I also do have a 2 month old.  But there is no jealous there.  And when we sit her on the potty she just sits there playing with her hands, pants, or whatever she can think of.  So I'm not sure what we should do or try next.  Any idea's to help??
Thanks Dawn

Answer
Hi Dawn,
I know it is frustrating, but not unusual for a child to regress with potty training.  Especially when a new baby has arrived.  My suggestion would be to not press the potty training issue right now.
Give her some time to adjust to having a new sibling in the house.

I found a web site for you that has an excellent article on this.
I hope it helps you.  I think the most important thing right now is love and patience.

Good luck.
