Question
If I want to run a preschool with about 20 kids ,what kind of classroom arrangement is better ? Put them together in one big classroom with two teacher or devide to two classroom with one teacher in each classroom.

Answer
Hi Cindy,

That's a very good question. It depends on many factors. 1) The training of your teachers and aides 2) The size of your classrooms 3) Your school Parents' wants and needs 4) Your program curriculum 5) Your budget, etc. I always found a good balance with 15 students and a teacher and an aide. Statistics show that 2 to 15 is a good ratio. Sometimes this is not always possible due to the above factors. I have run a classroom with 20 children and a teacher and an aide before, but only if they are very experienced educators. Even with a 10 to 1 ratio, that teacher will still some help with clean-up, snack, art projects, etc.

Hope this gives you some perspective. Much success!!

Thank you,
Pam Koons
