Question
Hi Mr. Hintz, I have a question pertaining consumers and producers. I do not understand how consumers gain energy by eating other organism? I can almost grasp the concept but maybe you can go more in depth.
Thank you so much

Answer
  Hi Anna
Living things are made up of organic compounds composed of elements joined by Chemical bounds.
When an animal eats a plant or other animal it is metabolized, digested or broken down chemically. When these bonds are broken energy is released and either stored of converted to heat which in turn drives the physiological processes
