Question
Sir,

I am  very curious to know as to why major multinational companies go for FDI in other countries? What are their major motivating factors? Is it just one reason or a variety of factors?
I am a student of statistics, so i would be grateful if you could back your answer with empirical evidence. ( you can just provide the links).
 Thank you,
ravil

Answer
Thank you for your query.  Foreign direct investment is as any investment: you put your money where you see that the rate of return is most favorable to you and your objectives.  As for empirical data, you may want to check out the Bureau of Statistics, The World Bank Group, The European Bank, as a  start.  Good luck.
